PROSAR President and CEO Speaks at Adverse Event Reporting Seminar
ST. PAUL, MN, June 26, 2007 - PROSAR President & CEO Steve Swantek presented at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) co-sponsored Adverse Event Reporting Seminar, June 20, 2007 in Bethesda, MD. Mr. Swantek discussed how manufacturers could set up an in-house Adverse Event Reporting system as well as considerations for outsourcing to a qualified third party, in order to comply with the new Dietary Supplement and Nonprescription Drug Consumer Protection Act that becomes effective in December 2007. In addition to Mr. Swantek, speakers included Miriam Guggenheim, Senior Associate from Covington & Burling; Kelly Brown, Manager CMG Global Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance at GlaxoSmithKline; Heidi Horn, Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs for Perrigo; speakers from both CRN and CHPA; and several representatives from FDA who discussed FDA’s rulemaking and guidance development process.
